Golf News for July 3rd, 2009

Great day of golf yesterday with the At&T starting along with the French Open and the LPGA Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic. I will be updating all tournament action later today. I also had a great driving range practice session yesterday, playing mostly my wedges around the greens and out of the sand.

Kaymer grabs lead after first round of French Open Martin Kaymer tied a course record with a 9-under 62 on Thursday to take a three-stroke lead after the first round of the French Open. Kaymer overcame a painful blister and a bogey on his first hole with eight birdies and an eagle on No. 3 to tie the record set by Eduardo Romero of Argentina in 2005 on the 7,300-yard Golf National course.

Lucas Glover feels major difference in golf game after U.S. Open win A lot of guys win the U.S. Open and spend the next couple of weeks decompressing, pulling out of tournaments they had planned to play. Not Lucas Glover. A week after Bethpage, he played the Travelers in Hartford. This week, he's playing the AT&T National, which begins Thursday at Congressional Country Club. Then it's on to the John Deere Classic, in Illinois, with the British Open to follow.

Kim grabs share of lead at Jamie Farr golf event South Korea's Kim Song-hee shot a seven-under 64 to seize a share of the lead after the opening round of the LPGA Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic. Americans Laura Diaz and Morgan Pressel also shot 64s on the Highland Meadows Golf Club on Thursday.

Kim Sets Course Record to Take Lead at ATT Golf Defending champion Anthony Kim of the United States has the lead after shooting a course record score in the first round of the AT & T National golf tournament. Kim leads world No. 1 Tiger Woods by only two strokes.
